Exclusive Ribeiro Santos. The “Little But Brave Man” Died 50 Years Ago

On October 12, 1972, then-student José Ribeiro Santos, aged 26, was shot by a PIDE agent during a rally of university students against the regime’s oppression. He would die that day, in the hospital of Santa Maria. One of the “important events” in the life of António Garcia Pereira, as the lawyer, friend of Ribeiro Santos, and former militant of the PCTP-MRPP, assumes against the DN.

“It was a crime that cost the regime a lot of money.
