The last meeting of the Council of Ministers will take place next Thursday before the executive power led by António Costa takes office. The press conference will be chaired by Mariana Vieira da Silva, Minister of the Presidency, and Frederico Francisco, Secretary of State for Infrastructure.
During Thursday’s meeting, the government approved diplomas related to the PRR, the Lisbon-Porto high-speed line and the implementation of works at Lisbon Airport, in response to infrastructure limitations.
The formalization of the government’s resignation, which will be limited to management actions, should take place this evening by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, as he himself indicated on Saturday.
This happens a month after Prime Minister António Costa offered his resignation to the President of the Republic on November 7. The head of state then decided to dissolve parliament and schedule early parliamentary elections for March 10.
