Almost all ministers of the XXIIIth constitutional government will present the 2023 state budget proposal to PS militants in 18 sessions from north to south of the country starting on Saturday and ending on the 28th.
After Prime Minister António Costa presented the budget proposal to militants in Lisbon on Monday, ministers and socialist leaders will begin to unfold across the country from Saturday in an initiative called “PS takes care of bills”.
Under the motto “Stability, trust and dedication”, Mariana Vieira da Silva, Minister of the Presidency, will be the first to take action at 3 p.m. on Saturday in the Socialist Federation of Braga. Ana Mendes Godinho, Minister of Labor, will be the last to present the budget proposal in Leiria on the 28th.
Fernando Medina, Minister of Finance, presents the budget proposal on the 24th to militants in the Ateneu Comercial do Porto.
Of the 18 scheduled sessions, 16 will take place this weekend. The only ministers not going to the field are the holders of Defence, Helena Carreiras, of Justice, Catarina Sarmento e Castro, of Economy, António Costa Silva, and of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Elvira Fortunato. Environment Minister Duarte Cordeiro took part in Monday’s session with the Prime Minister and Secretary-General of the PS in Lisbon.
João Costa (Education) to Algarve, Pedro Nuno Santos (Infrastructure) to Aveiro, Mariana Vieira da Silva (Presidency) to Braga, Maria do Céu Antunes (Agriculture) to Coimbra, João Gomes Cravinho (Foreign Affairs) to Évora, Ana Abrunhosa (Territorial Cohesion) in Guarda, Ana Mendes Godinho (Work) in Leiria, Fernando medina (Finance) in Porto, Ana Catarina Mendes (Parliamentary Affairs) in Santarém, Pedro Adão e Silva (Culture) in Setúbal, José Luís Carneiro ( Interne administration) ) in Vila Real, and Manuel Pizarro (Healthcare) in Viseu.
The PS group leader, Eurico Brilhante Dias, will be in Viana do Castelo on Saturday, with the Socialist Deputy Secretary-General, João Torres, in Castelo Branco on the same day. Secretaries of State Francisco André, António Mendonça Mendes and André Moz Caldas will be in Torres Vedras, Cuba (Baixo Alentejo) and Portalegre respectively.
