“Three blocks”, antisemitism: what to remember from the interview with Gabriel Attal on BFMTV

Ten days before the first round of the legislative elections, Gabriel Attal is the guest of BFMTV this Thursday, June 20.

Two weeks after the European elections and ten days before the first round of the legislative elections, Gabriel Attal, a guest of BFMTV, returned, this Thursday, June 20, to the issues of this election. He also expressed fears that “the extremes” would ever win on June 30 and July 7.

· A country divided “into three blocks”

A few days before the start of the legislative campaign, Gabriel Attal believes that the French today have “three options, three blocks”:

“There is on the one hand the extreme right and its alliance with Jordan Bardella, the LFI-Nupes alliance with Jean-Luc Mélenchon and I, who heads this majority, am prime minister and direct this campaign.”

The Matignon tenant stressed that his party had suffered “a defeat in the European elections.” “Obviously we take it into account and whatever happens things will be different, there will be a before and after,” he added.

Ten days before the first round, Gabriel Attal stated that “if the extremes won these elections, it would be a catastrophe for the lives of the French people.”

“It’s not me who says it, it’s also the business representatives,” he added.

The Prime Minister referred to the National Rally and the New Popular Front, in particular “in the economic aspect”, before specifying: “I see two projects that propose to massively spend several hundred billion additional euros.”

· The rape of a young woman in Courbevoie, an “absolutely atrocious” act

Questioned about the rape of a young woman in Courbevoie, amid anti-Semitic insults, Gabriel Attal wanted to repeat:[son] support and [sa] solidarity with this young woman, her parents, her loved ones.”

“What happened is absolutely atrocious. The perpetrators were arrested and detained and obviously we all want the justice system to punish them very severely,” he added.

· “Anti-Semitism has its candidates in these legislative elections”

“Since October 7, anti-Semitism has regained strength,” said the prime minister, underlining that his conviction is that “political leaders must always put up barriers against anti-Semitism, racism and homophobia.” According to him, “this is not the case in all political families.”

Before specifying: “Anti-Semitism has its candidates in these legislative elections. We see it on the extreme left with La France rebellious with candidates who made comments that contributed to this climate and this form of trivialization of anti-Semitism. on the extreme right too.”
