Marine Tondelier asks the Government to be “responsible”. The head of the environmentalists returned this Thursday, January 9 on BFMTV to the meeting that brought together the environmentalists, the Communist Party and the Socialist Party around the ministers of Éric Lombard and Amélie de Montchalin to discuss the budget.
On Thursday he asked the government to accede to the left’s demands for its budget to be approved. The one presented by Michel Barnier was rejected due to the vote, by the left and the RN, of a motion of censure that overthrew the government.
“A France without a budget is a complicated France,” Marine Tondelier warned this Thursday, adding that “the people who will be on the front line” in the event of a lack of budget will be “the most vulnerable.”
“We put our demands on the table, now it’s their turn,” he said.
“It is in their hands” and “they cannot remain inflexible,” added Marine Tondelier, calling on the Government to “change the policy.” Environmentalists demand in particular the repeal of the pension reform and measures in favor of ecology, which they estimate at 7 billion euros.
Tondelier “sensitive” to Philippe’s statements
Marine Tondelier also declared herself “sensitive” to the statements of Édouard Philippe, who on Wednesday declared himself willing to accept a “somewhat smaller” budgetary “effort” if it allows him to maintain “political stability” and thus avoid a second motion of censure on a finance bill.
The rebellious France did not want to participate in the meetings organized by Bercy and did not participate in the meeting on Wednesday night. “I do not blame the rebels for not having participated in these negotiations, they have the right to do so, it is their strategy and I respect it,” declared Marine Tondelier to BFMTV, deploring the “insults” uttered by Jean-Luc Mélenchon towards his “partners”.
The leader of France Insoumise considered on Wednesday that the PS and the environmentalists have shown themselves to be “ridiculously servile” towards the Government, in reaction to the meeting held with them in Bercy.
