In a decision made this Wednesday, June 4, the Administrative Court of Lille confirms the Marine Le Pen office of his mandate as Departmental Councilor for Pas-de-Calais.
On April 10, 2025, the Prefect of Pas-De-Calais declared Marine Le Pen, renouncing his mandate as departmental councilor.
This decision had occurred after his trial by the Paris Criminal Court of March 31, 2025, notably pronouncing against him the deprivation of his right of eligibility for five years, with the provisional execution of the sentence.
“On the substance of the dispute, the Court judged that the legislative provisions of the Electoral Code applicable to the departmental councilors require that the Prefect declare the elected departmental official declared inexpensive by the criminal judge, by a trial accompanied by the provisional execution. Therefore, the Administrative Court rejected the request,” explains the jurisdiction in a press release.
Marine Le Pen announced for the voice of his lawyer, Thomas Laval, who appealed this decision before the State Council.
The main reproach of the former candidate for the presidential elections of 2012, 2017 and 2022, is related to the refusal of administrative judges to reject the transfer of a priority issue of constitutionality (QPC).
