The rebels are categorical: they will deposit a motion of censure against the government of François Bayrou of “the first day of the parliamentary session”, scheduled by the end of September at this stage. Therefore, they want to prevent the government from “approved” the 2026 budget, an austerity cure of 40 billion euros.
“The first day of the parliamentary session, the rebel will deposit a motion of censure with the aim of taking the government falling and, therefore, preventing this Bayrou Plan from seeing the daylight,” said Insuumise Coordinator France Manuel Bompard in the RTL microphone this Thursday, August 21.
For the MEP LFI Manon Aubry, “he doesn’t expect anymore.” “I think the French can no longer wait when we see the scope of the efforts that are requested as part of François Bayrou,” said the chosen one in BFMTV denouncing “the worst social bleeding that our country has experienced in the last ten years.”
The rebels, who are doing their political return this Thursday in Châteauneuf -sur -isère near Valence, wish to open an extraordinary session of Parliament so as not to wait until the end of September and be able to deposit this motion of censure as soon as possible.
“Direct direction in purchasing power”
“The solution to the degradation of public accounts cannot be to ask the French to pay the price of gifts made by Emmanuel Macron since his arrival at the large and rich, multinational companies,” said Deputy Manuel Bompard. “They do not ask the French to accompany that we will provide a satisfactory response.”
The two elected officials point out in particular the abolition of the two vacations planned in the François Bayrou Plan, or even “the White Year” in 2026, the freezing of state spending and, therefore, the social benefits that will not be updated according to inflation.
“This results in a direct drop in purchasing power for a large part of the French and French who are already in a very difficult situation,” said Manuel Bompard, pointing out the “historical record of poverty achieved” in France in 2023 according to the latest Insee study.
Beyond the “parliamentary censorship,” Manon Aubry demands “popular censorship.”
“It will take a mobilization in the street, the popular pressure that is exercised in this government so that each political group will assume its responsibilities and position itself against this budget of misfortune,” he said.
The deputy says that the “support” rebel in particular the blocking movement of September 10. A movement formed in social networks that aims to “block everything” in France on this date, either through the general strike or to stop consuming.
