The Eurodiputa de la France, Insumise Rima Hassan, announced on Saturday that he joined the flotilla (Global Sumud Flotilla) responsible for humanitarian aid, directed in particular by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, starts at the end of August of Barcelona in the direction of Gaza.
A deviation from Tunisia
“Our governments are responsible for pursuing the genocide in Gaza,” said Franco-Palestinian Eurodiput on Network X. In June, it had already taken place aboard a sailboat for Gaza, which had been organized by Israel.
“They also distinguished themselves by their silence after the two attacks of the Global Sumud flotilla,” he added. This flotilla had denounced on Tuesday that one of her ships had been attacked by a drone when she was anchored in Sidi Bou Saïd, near Tunisia.
“Given this inaction, I join this citizen initiative, which is the greatest humanitarian maritime convoy ever achieved,” said the activist of the Palestinian cause, in the center of numerous controversies for his positions in the conflict to the Middle East.
This item occurs a few days before the 180th United Nations General Assembly during which several states have announced their intention to recognize the State of Palestine.
The global Sumud Flatilla (“Sumud” ships means “resilience” in Arabic) intends to reach Gaza to transport humanitarian aid after two attempts blocked by Israel in June and July. Rima Hassan joined the convoy in Bizerte’s Tunecino port.
