Emmanuel Macron “has not given a clear answer”, neither “on purchasing power nor on pensions nor on any issue”, lamented this Friday, October 10, the head of the Socialist Party, Olivier Faure, promising “no guarantee of non-censorship” of a future PS government, at the end of the meeting at the Elysée.
“He simply mentioned that we could postpone the implementation of the pension reform, which is not our request. We ask for the suspension of the pension reform, both of the legal age and the number of quarters contributed,” he added.
“Circumspection, disappointment and worry”
“At the pace things are going and in the conditions in which we find ourselves today, (…) there is no guarantee of non-censorship on our part,” he explained before explicitly threatening that “if all issues are not on the table”, in particular the suspension of the pension reform, “we will censor immediately.”
“A president who has always decided everything, conveniently there, tells us that he cannot decide on anything and that the discussion will have to be done with another (prime minister). I can express to you our caution, our disappointment and also our concern,” said Boris Vallaud, leader of the socialist deputies.
Emmanuel Macron must name a new prime minister in the next few hours, according to information from BFMTV.
