Montenegro outraged by attempts to associate it with Operation Vortex

The president of the PSD, Luís Montenegro, was this Friday “disgusted and outraged” by what he says, his attempts to associate him with Operation Vortex, and still gives assurances that this will not intimidate or weaken him.

“I am disgusted and outraged by these attempts, where they try to involve me in a situation that has nothing to do with me.he claimed.

After visiting the Licor Beirão factory and the Laboratory of Research on Forest Fires in Lousã, Luís Montenegro said categorically that he had nothing to do with this process.

“If there are pictures of me I have nothing against them, apparently they were at a public event, of a restaurant reopening or inauguration.he said.

Still referring to the photos in which he appears with a businessman detained as part of this operation, he assured that he has no “personal, professional or political relationship with these people”.

“I met this person that day when I went to a restaurant that was reopening and which is an emblematic restaurant in my country, in my city [Espinho]especially at a time when it had no political role”informed.

Speaking to journalists, the PSD leader also said he hoped these associations with Operation Vortex would come to an end.

“This can only be politically motivated, and if that happens, the rule of law and democracy will be weakened.”orphan.

Despite believing these associations with the Vortex operation to be off-putting, he left a guarantee that it would not intimidate, diminish, or disturb him.

“Now, of course, I have to denounce these maneuvers, these attempts to want to put me in a place where, pure and simple, I have never been and certainly never will be,” he stressed.

Still questioned about the continuity of Pinto Moreira in the Assembly of the Republic, Luís Montenegro stressed that there is still no change from a political point of view.

“From a procedural point of view, no request for waiver of parliamentary immunity has yet been made. The deputy in question is not even accused and I know of no official allegations,” he concluded.
