A use of cocaine that had a negative impact on the ranks of the renaissance deputies. The deputy for Hauts-de-Seine Emmanuel Pellerin admitted to Mediapart having consumed and had in his possession narcotics during his term.

This professional lawyer was the subject of an investigation opened on September 9 by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, according to information from our colleagues confirmed to BFMTV.com by a judicial source. It was triggered after a manual, presented on September 7, “which describes events that could be classified as direct provocation of a minor to the illicit use of narcotic drugs,” specifies the prosecution.

“After several hearings, the investigation was closed on September 26, 2022 by the prosecution, for lack of any element likely to characterize a crime.”

A report by your child’s psychologist

Emmanuel Pellerin’s 11-year-old son said his father handed him a box containing cocaine in late July, two months after he arrived on the National Assembly bench. The teen then confided in his psychologist, who then made a report to the courts.

“I said (to my son): ‘See, it’s the box in which there was drugs,'” Emmanuel Pellerin told Mediapart, while assuring that “there was nothing left at all.”

That gesture had, according to the parliamentarian, a “symbolic” dimension to “tell him” that his drug use was “finished, past.”

Her ex-partner also testified in the investigation, citing text messages from her ex-husband that confirmed the facts. Handrails from neighbors were also added to the proceedings.

“I got high again” last July

But first assuring that he had stopped all drug use when he entered politics at the end of 2021, as implied by the destruction of his drug use equipment, the deputy later returned to his comments.

“I took drugs again the weekend that we celebrated my investiture in July and after that it was over,” he explained to Mediapart, assuring that he had stopped all consumption on “July 23”.

“Do you want me to tell you that it’s wrong? Of course it’s wrong,” the lawyer said again, referring to the “biggest bullshit of his life.”

The Nanterre prosecutor closed the investigation last September, two weeks after it was opened. He considered that “the constitutive elements of a crime did not seem to be established.”

A request for exclusion from the party.

“If the facts are proven and Emmanuel Pellerin obviously recognizes them, they seriously damage the image of Parliament and the party,” explains Loïc Signor, spokesman for Renaissance.

Stéphane Séjourné will propose in the executive office on Monday evening his immediate exclusion from the party.
