“The limit is violence”: Sandrine Rousseau defends selective power outages

The EELV deputy for Paris was questioned this Wednesday on BFMTV about the upcoming social actions planned against the pension reform. Last week, a Renaissance deputy’s office was affected by a targeted power outage.

“All ways to stop this reform are good as long as they are not violent.” Although the pension reform will soon be debated in the National Assembly, the inter-union calls for “multiplying actions until January 31”, the date of the next great day of mobilization against the government text.

Among the modes of action, one caused a stir: the power outage last week in a street in Figeac (Lot), where the Renaissance deputy Huguette Tiegna is located. An act claimed by the CGT for which the parliamentarian filed a complaint, but which was not condemned by her colleague from Nupes Sandrine Rousseau.

“A social movement never stays wise”

“It is part of the disobedience and I think it will be part of the methods of action of this movement and that there will be many others,” the EELV deputy estimated this Wednesday night on BFMTV.

“Yes, there will be targeted cuts, yes, that will be part of it,” Sandrine Rousseau said.

“It is very good because it allows multiplying the way to oppose this reform and also allows people to mobilize who otherwise would not necessarily have mobilized,” he still considered.

On Tuesday night, the leader of the rebel deputies in the Assembly Mathilde Panot had already refused to condemn this union action. “A social movement never stays wise. A social movement never responds to the mandates of those it fights”, added Sandrine Rousseau on our antenna this Wednesday.

“Not Violent”

For the EELV deputy, “the limit is violence, in this case it is not violent.”

“On the other hand, having two more years of work when you have back and shoulder pain, that is violent,” continued the one who calls for “(not) reversing the load.”

“It is not a small blackout that will not only damage the movement, but also focus us,” Sandrine Rousseau finally declared on BFMTV.
