The opposition is filled with ideas on the occasion of the mobilization of March 7. That day, the unions and political forces, opposed to the pension reform, called to mobilize for the sixth time. And La France insoumise had the idea of launching a challenge to encourage young people to block their high school and university.
In a video posted this Sunday on Twitter, Louis Boyard, MP and former high school student unionist, launched a contest to post the “most beautiful photos” of the blockade.
“Among these photos we will take one, and the team of blockers will be invited to visit the National Assembly with us,” says the elected official on the social network.
Between 1.1 and 1.4 million protesters are expected
For this mobilization, between 1.1 and 1.4 million protesters are expected throughout France, while 320 actions are announced, according to a note from the territorial information consulted by BFMTV.
In Paris, the participants will be between 60,000 and 90,000 according to territorial intelligence, including 400 to 800 and yellow vests, as well as 300 to 500 radical elements. The other main processions will be in Nantes (32,500), Toulouse and Lyon (30,000), as well as in Rennes, Marseille, Grenoble, Clermont-Ferrand (20,000).
Previous mobilizations, which began in January, managed to gather between 1,272 and 2.8 million protesters according to sources. The unions hope to keep up the pressure on the government with rolling strikes, which will begin on March 7. A strategy that aims to “destroy the reform” according to Philippe Martínez, who spoke this Thursday night.
