Pensions: Dussopt, accused of “taking people for idiots”, is unanimous against him on the left

The words of the Minister of Labor that assures that there will be “no losers” fall very badly on the ranks of the left. Especially since the Government’s impact study is advancing although the retirement pension should “drop 1% on average” for the so-called overpricers and those who exceed the legal retirement age.

An interview to calm down the spirits that rather had the opposite effect. After Olivier Dussopt’s statements this weekend in the parisian Affirming that “there will be no losers” in the pension reform, the Minister of Labor is unanimously against him on the left.

Starting with Olivier Faure, the first secretary of the Socialist Party.

“I don’t know whether to laugh or cry,” reacted the leftist deputy in the Public Senate this Monday morning.

Reduction of the retirement pension for certain profiles

“It is a reform that is going to make many losers,” denounced the one who had been a roommate of Olivier Dussopt, in the 1990s, citing “women, precarious people, people who started working early, people who have more difficulties , the most painful jobs”.

The member of the government, however, assured just the opposite. “There will be no losers in this reform, because pensions will not fall. The reform requires efforts from the French. That’s right. But we are making sure that they are distributed as fairly as possible.”

However, according to the bill’s impact study, the answer is different. Currently, a worker who has obtained all of his life annuities and who decides to continue working after the legal retirement age of 62 years, sees his retirement pension increased by 1.25% for each additional quarter. This is called the premium mechanism.

“When we run out of arguments, we end up saying anything”

The amount of the surcoteurs’ pension must be “decreased by 1% on average”, it can be read there. Indeed, the additional quarters contributed would correspond, if the reform were adopted, to reaching the age of 64, the future retirement age, without implying new capital gains.

“This loss can, however, be neutralized for those insured who postpone their departure beyond the time lag imposed by the measure to increase the effective retirement age,” this document adds. In other words, to obtain a premium now it will be necessary to exceed 64 years of age and no longer 62 years of age.

Olivier Dussopt’s words sought to round off the angle prior to the social mobilization on Tuesday. The unions, who want to paralyze “France”, hope that it will succeed in breaking down the Government, until now determined to carry out its reform that it wants to see applied “by the summer”.

The government remains confident for the moment, while this Saturday, the main unions once again expressed their firm opposition to the project. What pushed Laurent Berger, the head of the CFDT to express his anger after the minister’s statements.

“When we are at the end of the arguments, we end up saying anything,” the unionist advances this Monday in France inter. Before adding: “you have to stop taking people for idiots, excuse me for saying so.”

“A Form of Humor”

The rebel deputy François Ruffin is hardly more tender this Monday in Europe 1. You “must read the words” of the Minister of Labor “with a kind of humor”, so yells the elected official of the Somme who has no longer appreciated that Olivier Dussopt calls to his “leftist” reform.

“When it says white, it’s black, when it says left, it’s right,” the Somme elected official said.

The intelligence services expect this Tuesday between 1.1 and 1.4 million protesters throughout France to say no to retirement at 64 years of age.
