Anne Hidalgo was invested by the socialist party on October 17, 2021 to be a candidate for the 2022 presidential elections. She proposes to unite in a context of deep division on the left, before the candidacies of Arnaud Montebourg, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Yannick Jadot . The first polls for the presidential election do not favor her, but the mayor of Paris indicates that she will go all the way. Anne Hidalgo is a French politician. Born in Spain (San Fernando) on June 19, 1959, she has dual nationality (French-Spanish). A member of the PS, Anne Hidalgo was deputy to Bertrand Delanoë in the Paris mayor’s office and regional councilor for Île-de-France from 2004 to 2014. During the 2014 municipal elections, she became the first woman mayor of Paris. She was re-elected in 2020. In 2021 she announced her candidacy for the presidential election.
