Galamba sent messages to deputy sheriff: ‘Looks like there are notes now’

Last Tuesday, Minister João Galamba sent two WhatsApp messages to his former deputy Frederico Pinheiro expressing his deep displeasure that the latter allegedly hid notes about the “secret” meeting between the PS faction and former CEO of TAP Christine Ourmieres-Widener.

The messages were released by SIC on Friday. In it, Minister João Galamba tries to ask Frederico Pinheiro for an explanation.

“Frederico, it seems there are now notes from the meeting that you didn’t have when we met. Send the notes to me and Cátia as soon as possible, please. Thank you.”, reads a first message from the Minister of Infrastructure.

In the following Galamba again questioned the now exonerated deputy. “How do you remember that a month after the meeting you have notes in which Eugénia asked everything there was about the meeting with the parliamentary group?!?!? And because of that we had to ask for an extension of the deadline for sending documents”.

This Friday it was announced that Frederico Pinheiro was acquitted on Wednesday (26), the day after those reports. According to an official statement, João Galamba believes that Frederico Pinheiro “displayed behavior that was incompatible with the duties and responsibilities” of the positions he held.

The government filed a complaint against the former adviser to the Ministry of Infrastructure on Friday for taking home a computer containing confidential information.

The former aide to the minister also sent a statement to the editors on Friday with his version of events and accuses João Galamba of trying to leave information to the parliamentary committee of inquiry about TAP.
