PSD and Chega request that former Galamba deputy be heard in the committee of inquiry

The PSD and Chega asked to hear João Galamba’s acquitted deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, in the TAP parliamentary committee of inquiry.

This request to hear the two sides comes at the end of the day when Frederico Pinheiro was fired for “conduct incompatible with duties and responsibilities” and his accusations against João Galamba, which were already “categorically denied” by the Minister of Infrastructure, thereof. he had attempted to leave information to the TAP investigative committee.

In the request for the hearing that the PSD wants to be “scheduled with the utmost urgency”, the Social Democrats condemn the “very serious statements” of the PS party leader, Eurico Brilhante Dias, namely the allegations to the other groups of ” breaking the law and passing information to the media, which was handed over to TAP’s investigative committee”.

The media learned today that the aforementioned information leak may have come from the Ministry of Infrastructure itself, namely from the notes of the Minister’s deputy, Frederico Pinheiro, who took part in the “secret meeting” between member(s) of the parliamentary party, advisers to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Parliamentary Affairs, and the CEO of TAP,” the PSD says.

“Because the revelation in the media of this information leak was followed on Wednesday by the resignation of the aforementioned deputy at the Minister of Infrastructure, and serious contempt in the same ministry yesterday, Thursday, with allegations by Frederico Pinheiro of submission to the attempt to hide information and falsify,” the PSD justifies.

Chega already mentions that João Galamba’s former deputy communicates that “he has received an indication that in case of request from the parliamentary committee of inquiry, the notes of the meeting would not be shared because it is an informal document, and later said the ministry will even stated that these notes did not exist, which he considers to be manifestly incorrect”.

“This situation is particularly serious because it could mean that there is a member of the government who is deliberately trying to withhold information from the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry, with all the legal consequences that entails,” Chega said.

The acquitted deputy of Minister João Galamba, Frederico Pinheiro, today accused the Ministry of Infrastructure of wanting to omit information to the TAP Commission of Inquiry about the “preparatory meeting” with the former CEO.

However, in a statement, the Minister of Infrastructure “categorically denied” the acquitted deputy’s allegations, noting that “on the contrary” “all documentation requested by the CPI had been fully provided”.
