João Galamba denies “attempting to condition or omit information” to TAP’s parliamentary inquiry committee, refuting allegations made this Friday by his former deputy Frederico Pinheiro.
“On the contrary: all documentation requested by the CPI has been provided in full,” says the Ministry of Infrastructure.
In a note sent to the editors, the Office of the Minister of Infrastructure also clarifies that the resignation of Frederico Pinheiro is due to the fact that he has “repeatedly denied the existence of meeting minutes requested by the CPI, which could have led to a wrong response to the CPI by the MI cabinet”.
Frederico Pinheiro was fired on Wednesday for “behaviour incompatible with the duties and responsibilities” inherent in the performance of his duties, according to official information.
It was also announced this Friday that the government had filed a criminal complaint against Frederico Pinheiro over the fact that the former employee of the Minister of Infrastructure went to the premises of the Ministry to forcibly take a computer that he claimed belonged to him .
As DN found out, the judicial police have already opened an investigation and it will be the National Counterterrorism Unit (UNCT) that will investigate this crime, which has to do with alleged classified documents that were on Galamba’s deputy sheriff’s computer.
Frederico Pinheiro justifies the decision to take the computer where he had the documents related to the meeting, with the aim of making a “backup”, even to “defend himself within the framework of the Commission of Inquiry”, he said in a statement released this Friday. .
