PS now wants to end scenes of “bad education” and far-right resistance in parliament

This position was taken by Eurico Brilhante Dias after the Leaders’ Conference decided that no rules or sanctions framework other than the current one are needed to ensure the regular functioning of parliamentary work.

According to the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, the Conference of Leaders followed his position that “more rules are not needed, another sanctions framework is not needed”, adding that this decision was supported by all parliamentary groups “minus one”, the Enough.

Eurico Brilhantes Dias also pointed out that at Wednesday’s leadership conference, the PS not only agreed with the position of the President of the Assembly of the Republic, but also warned that “it will not allow it to contribute to the degradation of the parliamentary institution”.

“I was pleased to see that the far-right parliamentary group was isolated” at the leadership conference, he said.

Regarding a “Youtuber” who recently visited parliament at the invitation of the Liberal Initiative, after later insulting the Prime Minister, António Costa, after going to the speakers’ tribune, Eurico Brilhante Dias noted that the Liberal bench offered an apology. for this incident.
