The White House spokeswoman announced Monday that US President Joe Biden will receive Emmanuel Macron in Washington for a state visit on December 1.
This visit will testify to the depth and vigor of the relationship between the United States and France, our oldest ally,” said Karine Jean-Pierre.
The two presidents met for the last time on September 21 in New York, on the sidelines of a conference of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
They “reaffirmed their continued support for Ukraine’s actions to defend itself against Russian aggression,” according to a White House statement.
The two leaders “also discussed steps taken to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, as well as our current cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and the challenges posed by China,” the statement added.
Emmanuel Macron had already made a state visit to the United States in 2018, when Donald Trump was president.
