Tiafoe makes his debut in the top 10 of the world ranking, Borges rises and Djokovic leads

The American tennis player Frances Tiafoe entered the top 10 of the world ranking for the first time on Monday, released this Monday, which is still led by the Serbian Novak Djokovic and in which the Portuguese Nuno Borges rose to 69th place.

Tiafoe, who won the tournament in Stuttgart, Germany on Sunday, moved up two spots in the ATP rankings to 10th, the best ranking of his career at age 25, and the only change among the world’s top 10 tennis players.

Djojkovic remains at the top of the men’s classification, ahead of the Spanish Carlos Alcaraz and the Russian Daniil Medvedev, second and third, respectively, while the Norwegian Casper Ruud and the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas remain in fourth and fifth.

Nuno Borges climbed four positions and is now ranked 69, remaining the only Portuguese player in the top 100 ranked and approaching the best record of his career, ranked 63 reached on April 10.

Far behind the national number one, compatriot Frederico Silva rose two places, to 186, the same as Gonçalo Oliveira, but to 285, while João Sousa continues to fall, having dropped three more places in the update of this fair Monday, to the 312.

In the women’s ranking, there were no changes in the top 10, with the Polish Iga Swiatek remaining in command, ahead of the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka and the Kazakh Elena Rybakina, second and third, respectively.
