Portugal’s Isaac Nader won the silver medal in the 1,500 meters of the European Games this Saturday, the third for Portuguese athletics in Poland, in a competition integrated into the European Championship for selections.
Isaac Nader, 23 years old, completed his race in 3:37.37 minutes, surpassed only by the Spaniard Mohamed Katir, 42 hundredths of a second faster (3:36,95): the podium was completed by the Dutchman Niels Larós (3:37,59) .
This is the third medal for Portuguese athletics in this European selection, after Auriol Dongmo’s gold in the shot put and João Coelho’s silver in the 400 metres.
Portugal now has eight podiums in Kraków2023, namely three golds, three silvers and two bronzes.
The third edition of the European Games runs until July 2 in Krakow and in Poland’s Malopolska region, with 30 sports on the program and 48 participating countries, including Portugal, which has a delegation of more than 200 athletes.
