This Wednesday, Iván Marcano renewed his contract with FC Porto for two more seasons, until 2025, the club announced on social media.
“FC Porto and Marcano renew their contract,” the dragons wrote on Twitter.
The Spaniard is the defender with the most goals scored in the history of FC Porto, with 28 goals. The contract expired at the end of the month, but Sérgio Conceição can thus continue to count on a player who started last season, along with Pepe.
“Iván Marcano has renewed the contract that binds him to FC Porto for two more seasons, until 2025. The central defender, who recently turned 36, will reach 2023/24 with a total of 28 goals scored for FC Porto, a record which gives him the status of defense with the most goalscorer in the history of the club”, pointed out the blue and white shield.
The defender is one game away from completing 250 appearances with FC Porto, since he arrived in the summer of 2014, remaining until 2018, the year in which he left for Roma, before returning in 2019/20 to complete his second spell at the port club.
With the dragons, the center-back won three championships, three Portuguese Cups, a League Cup and a Super Cup.
In his career, Marcano has also played for Racing Santander, the club from which he graduated, Villarreal, Getafe, Olympiacos and Rubin Kazan.
