Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, record holder of Grand Slam titles, qualified for the third round of Wimbledon on Wednesday, beating Australian Jordan Thompson in three sets.
In search of his 24th ‘major’, the current number two in the world classified Thompson, 70th, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) and 7-5, in two hours and 27 minutes.
‘Nole’, who added his thirtieth consecutive victory on London grass and won the last four at Wimbledon, will face the Swiss Stan Wawrinka, 88th in the world, or the Argentine Tomas Martín Etcheverry, 32nd.
