World number four away from home for 142nd place. Ruud stunned by Broady at Wimbledon

The Norwegian tennis player Casper Ruud, number four in the world, was eliminated this Thursday in the second round of Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season, after being defeated by the British Liam Broady in a match decided in five sets.

Ruud, who was runner-up at Roland Garros and won the Estoril Open, was defeated by the 142nd in the hierarchy 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3 and 6-0, in a match that lasted of three hours and 28 minutes, in which the Norwegian was assisted due to physical problems.

In the third round, Liam Broady will face Canada’s Denis Shapovalov, ranked 29th in the world, while Ruud still hasn’t made it past the second round on the All England Club pitch.
