Uruguayan Rodrigo Zalazar played for Schalke 04, which was relegated to Bundesliga 2 last season, and is about to be announced as a reinforcement for SC Braga.
The 23-year-old midfielder has already arrived in Portugal – he landed early in the afternoon at the Francisco Sá Carneiro airport, on a private flight from Germany – and will now undergo medical examinations to sign a five-year contract.
Zalazar will have a termination clause of 50 million euros.
Born in Albacete, Spain, the dual Uruguayan and Spanish national made 23 appearances for Schalke last season, scoring two goals and six assists.
Trained in Albacete and Malaga, he also worked at Eintracht Frankfurt, Korona Kielce and St. Pauli.
