Poels, aged 35, took part in the numerous routes of the day and isolated himself from his fellow travelers to crown the summit of Saint-Gervais Mont-Blanc alone at the end of the 179 kilometers from Les Gets, in 04:40.45 . The Belgian Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) came second, at 02.08 minutes and the Frenchman Mathieu Burgaudeau (TotalEnergies) third, three minutes behind the winner.
Vingegaard and Pogacar crossed the finish line side by side and the yellow jersey remains 10 seconds ahead of the Slovenian, with Spain’s Carlos Rodríguez (INEOS) still third, 05.21 minutes behind the Jumbo-Visma Dane.
On Monday, the peloton will complete the second rest day of the 110th Tour de France and return to the road on Tuesday for the only time trial of this edition, of just 22.4 kilometers between Passy and Combloux.
