The Escape Livre Club is currently recreating the Circuito das Beiras, which connects the coast with the interior, a route of almost 440 km, 120 years after the first Portuguese stage race.
Between September 14 and 17, with a competitive nature, like the original race, the Circuito das Beiras has three stages: Coimbra – Castelo Branco; Castelo Branco – Guard and Guard – Coimbra.
Given the impossibility of holding a race, the organization, which tried to follow the original route as closely as possible, resorted to “slalom and special starts that will determine the final classification of the race,” reads the club’s official website.
This morning, cars that have stood the test of time are the center of attention in the recreation of this emblematic event of national motorsports.
