Benfica announced on Friday the departure of administrator Domingos Soares de Oliveira from the ‘incarnate’ SAD, in a statement to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM), with the payment of 1.5 million euros.
“Domingos Soares de Oliveira has resigned as director of Benfica SAD (and other companies integrated into the Benfica Group) on this date,” the document said.
According to the statement, this dismissal took place following contacts between Benfica SAD and Soares de Oliveira, which resulted in the signing of “a non-competition agreement, which will take effect immediately.”
“It provides for the obligation of Domingos Soares de Oliveira, taking into account the functions performed, to a non-compete obligation (with certain territorial exceptions) and the payment, by Benfica SAD to Domingos Soares de Oliveira, of the amount of €1, 500,000,” adds.
With the departure of Soares de Oliveira, who was co-CEO of the ‘incarnate’ SAD executive committee with president Rui Costa, Benfica says it has co-opted Jaime Antunes as a new member of the Board of Directors.
