This Friday, SAD dos Dragões presented a negative net result for the 2022/23 financial year. A different balance from the positive 44.97 million euros of last year. This is a historic loss, only surpassed by the 2019/20 season, in the year of the Covid-19 pandemic, when SAD presented a negative result of 116 million euros.
The blue and white administration presents some justifications, among them the sale of Otávio to Al Nassr, already in August, which is not included in this exercise that closed on June 30.
Fernando Gomes, administrator of SAD dos Dragões, explained that the management chose that path and thus earned 20 million euros, with the recognition of Otávio. The midfielder was sold on August 22 for a clause of 60 million, and not for 40 million if the transfer was accepted before June 30.
The financial administrator of FC Porto’s SAD left the guarantee that in December the results will be the best in history.
FC Porto’s SAD also justifies this loss with the increase in operating costs, not including ticket costs, which increased by 20.9 million euros, partly due to the attribution of prizes for qualification for the Liga de Champions as national champion, as well as other sports performance awards. .
