The Disciplinary Board (CD) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) initiated a disciplinary process against Benfica and fined the ‘eagles’ 15,300 euros and Sporting 5,480 euros for incidents in the derby, in the 11th round of the I League.
According to the penalty card released on Thursday, the ‘Reds’ were fined for “the use of explosive or pyrotechnic devices” and improper public behavior, as well as for “invasions and collective disturbances with an impact on the game”.
Sporting was fined a total of 5,480 euros for the use of explosives and fireworks and improper behavior by fans, with defender Gonçalo Inácio, who was sent off in the match, punished for one match.
The FPF CD also reports the punishment with a one-match suspension for Estrela da Amadora coach Sérgio Vieira, who was sent off in the match against Moreirense, with the coach also receiving a fine of 1,224 euros.
