This Monday, Cristiano Ronaldo made a gesture that left the referee and his rivals grateful. During the match between Al Nassr, from Saudi Arabia, and Persepolis, from Iran, for the Asian Champions League, the Portuguese striker “reversed” a wrong decision by the referee that benefited the Saudis.

It was the second minute of the match of the fifth day of Group E of the competition when Cristiano Ronaldo received a low cross inside the area. The first shot hit an Iranian defender, but the ball was returned in a dispute with another opposing defender. Ronaldo fell and the referee gave a penalty in favor of Al Nassr.
However, the Portuguese athlete quickly got up and went to the match referee to tell him that he had not been touched by the rival and that the penalty had been wrongly called. After checking the VAR monitor, the match referee annulled the play.
