Benfica-Juventus without goal-line technology by working at Luz

Tuesday’s match between Benfica and Juventus, of the fifth round of Group H of the Football Champions League, at Estádio da Luz (8:00 pm), “will not be played with goal-line technology,” according to UEFA.

“Before the Champions League match between Benfica and Juventus, the home side – without the knowledge of UEFA and the supplier of the goal-line technology – carried out work on the stadium, which caused the goal-line technology to stop working,” he says. UEFA in a statement.

In the same note, the European Football Association adds that “it is not feasible to replace and install a new system in time for the match”, and so the same will be done without the use of this technology, as stipulated by the regulations of the League of Champions.

Benfica, leader of Group H, on par with Paris Saint-Germain, both with eight points, will welcome Juventus, third, with three, from 8 p.m. in a match whistled by Serb Srdjan Jovanovic.
