Benfica is heavily favored to win the championship this season. This is what Aximage’s survey reveals for the TSFJN and DN with the aim of evaluating the opinion of the Portuguese about the sports season and which concluded that the eagles are the best placed to recover the title of national champion.
Of those questioned, 58% are convinced that Benfica will not let the title slip away. The advantage for FC Porto is great, as only 22% of football fans, in this survey, believe that the Dragons can renew the title. Much further away are Sporting and SC Braga: the lions gather the belief of 8% of those surveyed and the Bragaenses only 2%.
For those surveyed, it is also Benfica that appears at the forefront as the Portuguese team most capable of winning a European competition. The reds have 49% of the votes and, once again, they are well ahead of FC Porto, who add 22% again. Even so, 12% of people believe that no Portuguese club has the capacity to fight for European competition this season.
As for the individuals, despite the fact that the Portuguese championship has been going on for 12 days, it is already being evaluated who is the best coach and the best player: both are from Benfica. In this poll, more than half of football fans have no doubt that Roger Schmidt has been the most competent manager in the league. Rafa Silva is the best player, with 37% of the votes, ahead of Mehdi Taremi and Enzo Fernández.
A reference also for referees, with 50% of those surveyed considering that Portuguese refereeing has not changed, that is, it continues with the same performance as in recent seasons.

The survey was conducted by Aximage for TSF, Jornal de Notícias and Diário de Notícias with the aim of evaluating the opinion of the Portuguese on issues related to football.
The fieldwork took place between October 26 and 30, 2022. A total of 812 interviews were collected among people over 18 years of age residing in Portugal. The sampling was carried out by quotas, with sex, age and region, from the known universe, rebalanced by sex, age group and schooling.
The sample of 812 interviews corresponds to a confidence level of 95% with a margin of error of 3.44%. The responsibility of the studio is Aximage Comunicação e Imagem Lda., under the technical direction of Ana Carla Basílio.
