Real Madrid suffered its first defeat in the Spanish Football League on Monday, when it ‘fell’ in the field of ‘neighbor’ Rayo Vallecano (3-2), and let the eternal rival FC Barcelona escape the lead, at the conclusion of the 13th.
At the Estádio de Vallecas, on the outskirts of the Spanish capital, the Spanish champions were surprised by the eighth placed team, who triumphed with a goal from the Argentine Trejo, from the penalty spot, in the 67th minute, after a first ‘frantic’ half.
After five minutes, Rayo went ahead through Comezana, but Real Madrid asserted their ‘status’ and in a short time they starred in the comeback, with goals from the Croatian Modric, in the 37th minute, from a penalty, and the Brazilian and former FC Porto Éder Militão, at 41.
Before the break, Rayo Vallecano restored equality, through Álvaro García, in minute 44, before Trejo’s decisive move.
After 10 wins and two draws, Real fell for the first time in LaLiga and the defeat meant they lost the lead against FC Barcelona, who received and beat Almería 2-0 on this matchday.
The Catalans add 34 points, two more than the meringues, in a fight for the title that promises to be two, since Atlético Madrid and Betis, third and fourth, respectively, are already 10 away from first place.
