The Ghana national football team tested positive for their World Cup 2022 debut against Portugal this Thursday, beating Switzerland 2-0 in a private game at Abu Dhabi’s Al Nahyan Stadium.
The Ghanaian victory began to be drawn in the last 20 minutes, with goals from centre-back Mohammed Salisu, of Southampton, on 70, and striker Antoine Semenyo, of Bristol, who had come on 74 for Andre Ayew.
Ghana will take on Portugal in the first round of Group H of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with the two teams meeting on November 24 (4 p.m.), just after the game between Uruguay and South Korea (1 p.m.), from the same group.
In qualifying for the 2022 World Cup, the African team won their group in the CAF qualifying zone and in the play-offs played in March, they eliminated Nigeria, with a goalless home draw and another draw, but on an away goal ( 1-1), visiting the Nigerians.
Nigeria, currently coached by José Peseiro, who later took over the team, is Portugal’s exact opponent this Thursday, also in a match in preparation for the World Cup, which starts at 6.45 pm at Estádio José Alvalade.
