Giroud today equaled Thierry Henry as the top scorer of the France national football team in world cups by scoring twice against Australia (4-1), on the debut of champions France in Qatar 2022. Giroud, who entered the 2022 World Cup with 49 goals for the Gallia national team in 114 games, took full advantage of the absence of Karim Benzema, excluded from the blues due to injury tied Henry, who was capped 123 times.
