Portugal at its best in the last training session before its World Cup debut

This Wednesday, the Portuguese soccer team carried out the last training session before its debut in Group H of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where it will face Ghana, and had all the athletes called up.

On Tuesday, Nuno Mendes, left back for Paris Saint-Germain, was the only one absent from the session who had just completed recovery work in the gym, due to muscle pain, but he has already joined the group on the pitch at the center of Al-Shahaniya training ground, located on the outskirts of Doha.

Thus, the Portuguese coach, Fernando Santos, during what could be seen in the first 15 minutes open to journalists, had the 26 summoned available, divided into two groups, to carry out the usual exercises with the ball.

The three goalkeepers Rui Patrício, Diogo Costa and José Sá did specific work on the sidelines.

On the other hand, the captain of the ‘quinas’ team Cristiano Ronaldo carried out his first training session as a player without a club, after leaving Manchester United on Tuesday “with immediate effect” and by mutual agreement, after an interview in which the forward swept the ‘red devils’ and the coach Erik ten Hag.

Portugal and Ghana will play on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. local time (4:00 p.m. in Lisbon), at Estádio 974, in Doha, in a Group H match of the 2022 World Cup.

The “quinas” team will then face Uruguay, on November 28 (10:00 p.m. local time), and South Korea, led by Paulo Bento, on December 2 (6:00 p.m. local time).

The 22nd edition of the World Championship will run until December 18 in Qatar.
