The 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France, scheduled for Sunday, starting at 6:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. in Lisbon) will be refereed by the Pole Szymon Marciniak, FIFA announced Thursday.
The 41-year-old Polish referee had already refereed the two teams present in the final of this competition, directing Argentina-Australia, which the Argentines won 2-1, in the round of 16, and France-Denmark, still referring to the phase of groups, won by the Frenchmen, also by 2-1.
In addition, many of the protagonists on the field of this final have already had Marciniak directing matches, specifically in the Champions League.
Marciniak will be assisted by his compatriots Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz, a trio who already refereed at the 2018 World Cup and at the 2016 Euro Cup, which the Portuguese team won in France.
