The president of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) is available to go to the Assembly of the Republic (AR), “as soon as possible”, if the hearing demanded by the Left Bloc (BE) is approved, he told this Tuesday Lusa. Official source of the organization.
The BE will request an urgent hearing from the president of the FPF, Fernando Gomes, to explain the contracts of the Spanish Roberto Martínez and Fernando Santos, current and former selectors, respectively, according to the request to which Lusa had access today.
“The president of the FPF will be available, as he has always been in the past, to participate in any initiative of the parliamentary commissions”, assured an official federative source, questioned by Lusa about the request presented to the Budget and Finance Commission of AR. .
The leader himself assured this availability, “as soon as possible, in case the presence is useful.”
“The president of the FPF will be available as of next Friday, if that is understood, after an international commitment scheduled for this week,” the same source explained, adding that, if the audition is not approved, “Fernando Gomes will maintain the same willingness to receive a BE delegation in Cidade do Futebol”.
In the lawsuit filed by BE, to which Lusa had access, the request to be heard by the federative president is due to the news that “the Public Ministry will investigate alleged tax crimes in the way in which the FPF paid Fernando’s salaries Santos and the coach”. squad of the men’s soccer team.
“In September 2014, the FPF signed a service contract with the recruiter’s company, Femacosa, created that same year. According to the newspaper Expresso, the coach will have received, in 2016 and 2017, through this company, 10 million euros (25% having been transferred to companies that the deputies created in the meantime), but he only declared and paid IRS on his salary annual of 70 thousand”, adds the document.
According to BE, “the form of payment of salaries was at the origin of the demand for liquidation of 4.5 million euros of taxes made by the Treasury, which considered that, with this formula, the technician intended to avoid paying higher taxes through the IRS.”
The Bloco draws attention to the fact that, more recently, the FPF has not revealed, so far, “how much it will pay the new coach”.
