The Sporting coach said this Friday that Spanish defender Pedro Porro will face FC Porto in the Football League Cup final, but did not guarantee the defender’s durability until the end of the market.
“He doesn’t leave anymore because he goes to the training camp and I’m with him until the game. Today’s football is different, but the clubs come first and the player can play. He has signed up with Sporting and he is I’m going to play I know this is all messing with the minds of the players but the indication I have is that it’s fit”said Amorim.
The coach put the importance of the player’s departure to England into perspective, should that happen, and underlined that Sporting is worth the team.
“This game cannot be solved with just one player and we work well as a team. We have to be intense and aggressive. We are prepared for all scenarios. I don’t know if it’s Porro’s last game or not, until February 1 the whole people will know”concluded the Leonine coach.
Sporting, winner of the League Cup in 2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21 and 2021/22, will face FC Porto, runners-up in 2009/10, 2012/13, 2018/19 and 2019/20, on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at Estadio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa, in Leiria, in the decisive match of the 16th edition of the competition, with referee João Pinheiro, from the Braga association.
