Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic won his tenth Australian Open on Sunday by beating Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets in the final, equaling the 22 Grand Slams of Spanish Rafael Nadal.
In a match that he clearly dominated, the fifth player in the world added his 10th victory in as many finals in Melbourne, beating Tsitsipas, 24 and fourth in the hierarchy, with partials of 6-3, 7-6 (7 – 4) and 7-6 (7-5), in two hours and 56 minutes.
Djokovic, 35, thus equaled the record of 22 Grand Slams held by the Spanish Rafael Nadal, current champion in Melbourne and eliminated in the second round, and will return this Monday to the top of the world ranking.
