The Almada driver, who managed to go directly to the second qualifying round by being one of the 10 fastest in free practice, finished 1,114 seconds behind the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who secured pole position for Sunday, to be fastest in Q2. , clocking 01.46.069 minutes.
Bagnaia reached the fifth pole of the season, with Australian Jack Miller (Ducati) second with 0.09 seconds and his compatriot Énea Bastianini third with 0.244.
After closing the first day of free practice on Friday in 15th position, Miguel Oliveira set the seventh combined time today in the third session -the first of the day-, 0.232 seconds behind Jack Miller, guaranteeing, from the outset, direct classification for Q2.
However, Oliveira would set the fastest time in the fourth and final free practice session, with a time of 01:47:43 minutes at the Motorland circuit.
The Portuguese rider arrives at the 15th round of the season in 11th position in the World Championship, with 90 points.
The World Cup is led by Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), with 211 points, followed by Francesco Bagnaia, with 181, and Aleix Espargaró (Aprilia), with 178.
