Benfica SAD recorded a negative net result of 13.3 million euros in the first half of 2022/23, a decrease of 57.9% compared to the loss presented in the same period, the “eagles” revealed on Tuesday.

Between July 1 and December 31, 2022, operating income (excluding sports rights transactions) amounted to EUR 111.6 million, representing a growth of 16.3% compared to the EUR 95.9 million presented in the homologous period.

“This figure corresponds to the best record achieved by Benfica SAD in a 1st semester and is mainly related to sporting achievements in the group stage of the Champions League”underlined the SAD incarnate, specifying that “in the two semesters, the value of the UEFA prize item does not include the guaranteed 9.6 million euros with access to the round of 16 of the competition, which is only recognized in the 2nd round of the competition ” League. th semester, when the elimination takes place”.

Total revenues amounted to 127.3 million euros, representing a growth of 24.1% compared to the 102.6 million euros presented in the same period, with Benfica SAD highlighting that revenues from sports rights transactions in both semesters were “little expression” and that this variation was justified by the increase in operating income (excluding athlete rights transactions).

The asset corresponds to a value of 494.6 million euros, which represents a decrease of 7.3% compared to the end of last year when it amounted to 533.7 million euros, “this difference is mainly explained by the decrease in the balance of accounts receivable and other accounts receivable and of cash and cash equivalents,” he stressed.

Debts amount to 398.9 million euros, which corresponds to a decrease of 6.1% compared to the end of last year, and this decrease of 25.8 million euros is mainly reflected in the headings of other debts and of suppliers and other creditors.

Shareholders’ equity corresponds to a value of 95.7 million euros, representing a decrease of 12.2% compared to June 30, 2022, a variation justified by the negative net result for the semester.

“The value of equity as of December 31, 2022 remains a positive indicator of the economic performance of the Company in recent years, which has recovered a cumulative value of EUR 119.5 million since June 30, 2013″emphasized Benfica SAD.
