PSV fan sentenced to three months in prison for attacking goalkeeper

The fan of PSV Eindhoven who attacked Sevilla goalkeeper Marko Dmitrovic on February 23 during the match between the two teams for the Europa League was sentenced to three months in prison on Wednesday.

The match, in the second leg of the round of 16 of the Europa League, was won by PSV 2-0 and was marked by the aggression of Dylano K., aged 20, who entered the field to attack the goalkeeper of the Spanish team.

Dylano K. must immediately be released from prison for two months, the third month of which is conditional. He will then receive a probationary period of two years, during which he is not allowed to go near the PSV stadium.said the NOS, which reported the punishment.

In the incident, Marko Dmitrovic resisted the aggression until security officers entered the field to detain Dylano K.

The aggressor, who in the meantime lost his job and was suspended from the sports team to which he belonged, had a blood alcohol level of 1.6 g/l and had previously been denied access to the PSV stadium twice, so he even had to watch the meeting live with seen the Spaniards. According to De Telegraaf, the fan entered with someone else’s pass.

In a statement, PSV distances itself from the supporters’ attitude and condemns the attack on Dmitrovic. It promises to find more effective ways to ensure compliance with the ban on entering the stadium.
