The Russian Football Federation announced on Tuesday that it will not participate in the draw for the qualifying phase for Euro 2024, which takes place on October 9.
In social networks, the Russian organization justifies the absence with the decision made by UEFA, in February, to “suspend the participation of Russian teams and clubs in competitions organized by it.”
The military offensive launched on February 24 has already caused the flight of more than 13 million people -more than six million internally displaced persons and more than 7.2 million to European countries-, according to the UN, which catalogs this refugee crisis as the worst in Europe since the Second World War (1939-1945).
The UN presented as confirmed since the beginning of the war 5,916 civilian deaths and 8,616 wounded, highlighting that these figures are far below the real ones.
