Francisco Cabral and Nuno Borges lost this Saturday in the semifinals of the Estoril Open, against the Belgians Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen, and will not defend the doubles title won last year at the Clube de Ténis do Estoril.
The Portuguese duo failed to reach the second consecutive final, after being defeated by the fourth seeds 7-6 (7-4) and 7-6 (7-4), in one hour and 47 minutes.
Cabral and Borges, who last year became the first Portuguese to win the doubles title at the Estoril Open, leave the only ATP tournament held in Portugal without national representation.
