The opening session of this year’s Laver Cup in London was overshadowed when a protester set himself on fire during the match between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Diego Schwartzman.
Tsitsipas finished the first set 6-2 and during the field change in the O2 Arena a spectator burst into the tennis court and set his own arm on fire.

The protester was wearing a shirt that read “End UK Private Jets” and was quickly taken off the field after his flaming arm was doused in water.
After a short delay, the match could be resumed, the second of the first day.
Don’t forget that next Friday, in this Laver Cup where one European team takes on another from the rest of the world, the Swiss Roger Federer will say goodbye to tennis in a doubles match with Rafa Nadal.
