The cyclist Francisco Campos (Fonte Nova/Felgueiras) became the first leader of the XI Gran Premio O Jogo this Saturday by winning the first stage of the sprint starting and finishing in Barcelos.
Francisco Campos completed the 142.4 kilometers of the run in 3:25.57 hours, beating the Colombian Luis Carlos Chía (CCL/Matdiver) and the Argentine Tomás Contte (Aviludo-Louletano-Loulé Concelho), second and third, respectively, with the same time.
The day was marked by a breakaway of 10 cyclists, who formed up in the initial kilometers and lost elements facing the recovery of the peloton, the last of which were already less than 10 kilometers from the finish line, providing a final sprint.
Sunday will be a decisive day for the outcome of the race, as there are two stages: a 20.3-kilometre individual time trial, in Pinhel, in the morning, and a 78.6-kilometre pedestrian one, starting and finishing, in Trancoso, During the afternoon.
