Belenenses lost 3-0 at Amora this Sunday in a Group 2 fifth round match for the Liga 3 promotion, missing out on the opportunity to celebrate their promotion to the II Liga.
In this way, the decisions are postponed to the last day, with the Restelo team still relying only on themselves and just winning against Sanjoanense.
Restelo’s ‘blue’, which needed the three points to seal the rise, showed no arguments to beat an opponent who added the first three points in this phase after four consecutive defeats.
Superior at practically every moment of the match, held at Estádio da Medideira, the Amorenses took the lead in the 30th minute through captain Joca.
In the second half, with Belenenses already numerically outnumbered since the 69th minute, due to the exclusion of Chima Akas, the home side extended the lead through Vitinha and João Oliveira, at 76 and 86 respectively.
Despite the defeat with Amora, who remains in fourth and last place, now with three points, Belenenses, who had a strong phalanx of support in the stands of Medideira, continues to rely only on himself to succeed five years later to return to the professional level of Portuguese football.
On Saturday, in the last match of Group 2 for Promotion, the Lisbon team (10 points) will receive Sanjoanense at Estádio do Restelo, who has six points, minus one from Lank Vilaverdense, teams still facing today in São João da Madeira.
